Indiana Bound

Finally, I am Home and settled in. Not that I have a huge family to do laundry for or get kids back in school….or work…but with just two people in the house, grocery shopping and cleaning are just about the most I do these days. lol. Yesterday I spent the entire day at the beach with my friend Brittney. I don’t know about to rest of the world but here in Vancouver we have been having the BEST weather. Its been sunny & in the 70’s-80’s ever since I got back from Indiana, and even a couple weeks before.

Indiana was incredible. It has been over 2 years that I haven’t been able to travel to see my family due to full time job and my availability, also Immigration reasons that I wont get into. lol….. My husband and I haven’t really travelled together before, apart from our honeymoon to Mexico. So when I left for Indiana, I flew out of Seattle. (**Side Note; Seattle is by far my favourite city**)  We drove down in our New little Red Nissan Versa, and 3 hours later arrived in my favourite city. Spent the day walking around Pikes Place Market, enjoying each others company. We found this quaint pub across from the Pikes Place Market Sign on the corner, second floor, and ate lunch. Just ordered appetizers. A lot, if I must say. And the Bill was only 23$ We were instantly reminded we were back in the states for sure! Its always a good feeling crossing the Canadian/American border…a little side story.. when my family and I travel anywhere when we lived in Canada, we would fly out of Bellingham, WA or Seattle, WA, but instantly crossing that border we all felt like we could breath! We would all take big breath and let it out and say “ahhhhhh…home” lol. We may have been a little dramatic but growing up in the states for your entire life and then living in a “weird” country that no one knows anything about, on a work visa or a student visa, really does feel restricting. Back to my trip to Indiana… After a long day of WALKING  Seattle, eating, sitting, walking again, and more walking it came time to head to the airport. My flight departure time was 11:59pm. I got to the airport at 8pm so my husband could get back home at a decent hour so he wasn’t up all night and groggy for work the next day. After a sad goodbye to my husband (we don’t do well apart) I sat in the Beautiful Airport of Seattle…All windows, still light enough to see the planes land and take off, and not the mention the beautiful lights of Seattle. Such a gorgeous View, tall ceilings, dim lights, and of coarse a Starbucks in hand.. I had about 2 and half hours until I had to board the plane, so I decided to crochet an iPad Mini case, cause I had all this yarn in my carry on and needed to start another project. Finished that case 30 minutes later to start another one. That caffeine had my fingers working so fast! Finally time to board, fly, and land in Chicago at 6:30am, to realize the time difference, My next flight to Indiana I had missed..It boarded at 6:20am and I didn’t get off the plane until 6:45….never been so disappointed in my life.. All this emotion I had bottled up, to see my family and just hug and kiss and enjoy my time with them got delayed 3 hours. May not seem to bad, but to me it felt like forever. Got off the plane in Chicago, RAN (I’m in a jersey maxi dress with sandals on) to the opposite end of the airport. If any of you must know, Chicago airport is the busiest and most crowded airport in the US. The day before I arrived in Chicago there was 15 planes waiting to take off the runway… so many delays and flights that changed terminals it was insane. Thankfully there was a Chilis Restaurant (another american favourite) Close to my gate, after I found the next flight to Indiana, and scarfed down some breakfast and enjoyed a cup of coffee. I had 2 hours before my flight took off so I decided to face time my family and let them know not to pick me up at 9am at IND Airport. lol…Now it turned into 1pm. My flight called all the people flying on that place to the gate to board soon to realize the plane is broken before we board…. Another hour goes by, we board another plane and realize that plane has maintenance issues. Had to board the FINAL plane an hour later…I think I Arrived around 2pm or something//All for a 45 minute flight!! I was exhausted! I had been awake for over 24 hours….and for me its a big deal! lol.. Finally in Indiana! I had went to grab my bags and turn around to most of my family screaming!!! “Chochie!!!!!!!” With signs in there hand, immediate tears of Joy, I couldn’t hold it in. Balling my eyes out so happy to see my nieces and nephew and sisters, brother in law, and my Mom! God definitely has designed me to be around my family…this whole living in Canada away from EVERYONE is so hard and gets harder the older I get the more I realize how much I appreciate Family Time. Life is too short to live somewhere where your not fully happy.
